District Children’s & Youth Workers Conference

Our annual District Day Conference, for all those involved in children’s and youth work, will take place on Saturday 27th February 2010 at Daventry Methodist Church. The main speaker will be Gavin one of the Methodist Church’s Children and Youth Team. There will also be a number of other workshops during the day and a wealth of resources to explore.

Core Skills - training for children’s workers in the church

Core Skills is the new ecumenical training programme for those who work with children in the church. The course has seven sessions and begins with an Introductory Session, followed by six more specific sessions:

·          Child Development

·          Leadership Skills

·          Programme Planning

·          Children & Community

·          Pastoral Awareness

·          Spirituality & the Bible

Young Leaders of Worship Course

This course is for those in their teens or twenties who want to explore worship leading further. It is a residential course, held over the weekend of the 16th-18th July 2010, at the Crossways Retreat and Conference Centre in Northamptonshire.

 

The course is led by Paul Taylor (District Director of Training & Development) and Pam Lewis (Catholic Diocesan Youth Worker for Training & Formation ... she’s also a Methodist!).
